Begin your day, at your leisure, with the inn's chicory coffee, fresh fruit, muffins and juice. Then enjoy the French Quarter, perhaps by exploring antique shops, admiring ornate balconies lush with flowers and ferns, and listening to the street musicians. Discover a restaurant that tantalizes your taste buds. Step back into time and ride a horse-drawn buggy through this enchanting and mysterious city that has survived and thrived for three centuries.
Visitors to the Crescent City also enjoy river cruises on the mighty Mississippi, tour beautiful antebellum plantations, ride the trolley through the Garden District, and wander leisurely through the lush grounds of the Audubon Park and Zoo.
Whenever you decide to come to New Orleans, chances are you will be just in time for a festival complete with zydeco music and Cajun cuisine. This is, after all, the festival capital of the world, celebrating everything from alligators to strawberries! Besides Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, New Orleans has a French Quarter Festival, the Tennessee Williams Festival, Southern Decadence, Anne Rice's Halloween Party, and Sugar Bowl, just to name a few.
When you need to relax from sight-seeing, return to Dauphine House for a siesta or a chat with the other guests and your hostess, Karen Jeffries, on the patio. Karen lives on-site, and is happy to answer questions and make recommendations and reservations for restaurants, attractions, and exciting things to do in the city.
