| A Bed & Breakfast at Oak Spring Farm |
| The Farm houses zoo animals from the Natural Bridge Zoo (miniature horses, miniature cows, llamas, and occasionally a miniature Brahmin bull), and we have geese and wild mallards who make their home here year round. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very nearby and easily accessible and the Skyline drive is within a half hour driving time, as well as spectacular Goshen Pass and the very beautiful Crabtree Falls. |

| Oak Spring Farm is located about 25 miles north of Natural Bridge and about 50 minutes from Charlottesville (home of the University of Virginia and Monticello - the home of Thomas Jefferson). Rockbridge Vineyard and historic Wade's Mill (an operating grist mill) are nearby as well as the Buffalo Springs Herb Farm. Oak Spring Farm has numerous flower gardens. |

| There are ample canoeing, horseback riding, and fishing opportunities in the area, as well as seasonal carriage and ghost tours, and many fine restaurants. |

| The Orchard Room is our largest and most romantic room. It has views of the orchard and a large garden of wildflowers. It comes complete with a lovely queen size, contemporary iron bed and a sitting area with sofa. Other furnishings include an antique dresser passed down through family. The large bathroom is ensuite with a Jacuzzi with shower and side body sprays. Plans are to put a free standing log fireplace in the bedroom. |
| The Willow Room |
| The Willow Room overlooks an old and very large willow tree adjacent to our lovely pond. Furnishings include a queen size bed, rocking chair, and easy arm chair for intimate conversations. A comfortable bath with a combination tub/shower is tucked behind a pocket door. Plans are to upgrade this room with a gas log fireplace. |
| The Vineyard Room |
| The Vineyard Room overlooks the vineyard and pasture with miniature horses, miniature cows and llamas from the Natural Bridge Zoo. In addition to a cozy sitting area, the Vineyard Room's queen size bed has a headboard made from a 200-year old fireplace mantle. A private bath is adjacent, and has a large walk-in shower and a separate antique claw foot bathtub in which you may soak in complete privacy while enjoying views of the meadow and vineyard. Plans are to upgrade this room with a free standing fireplace. The Vineyard Room may also be rented as a suite with the Maple room. |
| The Maple Room |

It is furnished, at this time, with a double bed with a decorated iron headboard and an antique washstand. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and may be rented as a suite with the Vineyard room. |

| The Dining Room |
| The original home was built in 1826 and is of the Early Republic Period. The rear ell, in which the dining room (picture above) is located, was added in 1840. This section of the house is the most architecturally significant, as it is constructed using the unusual, horizontal plank construction method. The interior retains almost all of its original woodwork, which was of poplar and had been wood-grained originally. The large windows are double hung, with nine panes over six, most with original wavy glass. |
| The large dining room has a china closet built into the wall, with twin wooden doors, each opening to the side; and lower twin drawers. The room also has a fireplace with an old, ornate wooden mantel. The chimney for the fireplace serves the large hearth fireplace in the basement underneath, which was used as cookplace until the late 1980's. Presently, the fireplace in the dining room is brick enclosed because its chimney is now used as the flue for the oil burner, which heats the house. A large 9 over 6 pane window in the dining room looks into a side porch which has been added to the house and is presently being used as an office. A side door, with beveled, wavy glass, opens onto an exterior porch with a grand view of the orchard, and flower gardens. |
| The dining room is laid with a lovely, ornate Dildar Indian Oriental rug and has two dining tables with seating for 12 persons. Sandy Harrelson's great grandmother was Laura Lee of Tidewater Virginia. She married Matthew Barney Smith at Lee Hall Virginia. Laura's sister had married Richard Decatur Lee, a cousin who owned the historically significant Lee Hall Mansion. During the Civil War, William P. Lee, Laura's father, sent his other daughters to live at Lee Hall, thinking they would be safe f rom the War. In fact, Lee Hall became an Army headquarters. The dining room at Oak Spring Farm houses several antiques passed down from Laura Lee and Matthew B. Smith. |

A typical breakfast at Oak Spring Farm may include: Omelets stuffed with freshly sliced and sauteed vegetables, cheese, and mushrooms cooked in sherry. Or... Puffed, fruited pancakes, with seasonal fruits slowly heated and with Grand Marnier added. Or... Corn pankakes served with sour cream and salsa. Or... Local country eggs cooked to order. Above preceded with a fruit bowl or sliced melon, orange jui ce, and homemade bread. Served with Mexican cheese grits; and either Virginia ham, thick sliced bacon, or locally ground sausage. In season, Fried Green Tomatoes served with Spoonbread and either bacon, ham or sausage. |

| Lexington, named by Time Magazine as one of the top ten small towns in America, is the home of Washington & Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute (W&L and VMI respectively). General Stonewall Jackson taught physics at VMI and is buried in Lexington. His home is open to the public. W&L's Lenfest Center (a cultural arts center) and the Lime Kiln Theater (an outdoor theater located in an abandoned lime quarry) are both located in Lexington. Conveniently located near the intersect ion of I-81 and I-64 is the Virginia Horse Center, the largest horse center east of the Mississippi River. There are horse shows and other events occurring at the Horse Center almost every weekend. |
| Nearby Staunton is the home of Mary Baldwin College, the Woodrow Wilson Home, the Statler Brothers Museum, and the American Frontier Museum. Both Lexington and Staunton are regional antique centers. |
